There are plenty of opportunities for swimming and paddling in the nearby river and streams. The town of Comano is a town at the head of the Taverone valley with a backdrop of the breathtaking Apennine Mountains. There are many walking trails leading from Comano and the surrounding villages to the hills. The town which is surrounded by the farming community hosts an annual horse festival in the summer and offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and sport facilities. The village is also within walking distance of a larger village, Crespiano, with baker, restaurant/bar and grocer's shop and is approximately 10 minutes drive to the village of Comano and the same distance to Licciana Nardi. Licciana Nardi is a town in the Taverone valley with a lovely, cobbled 13th century pedestrian village lane flanked with local shops.
